Sonrisa Publications has discontinued the web store that has been in place on this site for several years. The issue prompting this action is the continued high cost of processing credit card transactions and the degree of risk passed on to merchants by the credit card companies.
Although all costs of producing the railroad map book series have increased over the years, the greatest cost has been that of processing credit cards as a Visa/Mastercard merchant. It is estimated that book prices would need to be increased by 15% for credit card sales to break even with other retail sales. Some have asked "why not raise prices just for credit card customers?" Unfortunately, the credit card companies in their merchant contracts have prohibited charging different prices for credit purchases than for cash purchases.
Instead, purchases may be placed using Paypal's payment service. Credit cards may be used and there is no need to establish a PayPal account to place an order with a credit card.
